“Shakespeare’s Women” Saturday, October 21st 1-2:30pm Pacific Time

Marly Milena (Niela Miller in RL) invites you to come and enjoy a special performance on Saturday, October 21  from 1:00 to 2:30pm Pacific Time in Second Life, at the Octagon Globe Theater on Inspiration Island.

Marly is the founder of the Octagon, and her programs are devoted to combining arts processes with self-exploration and interactive participation.

This is not a usual theatre performance but, rather, an exploration of the connection between the character, the person presenting the character. the art they have created as an energy depiction of the character, and the audience’s responses to questions from Marly, who will be facilitating a discussion about the relationship between Shakespeare’s women and contemporary parallels. Four women will be doing monologues from four different plays.

The event will conclude with an Elizabethan dance which is open to all. We will provide the music and animations for you to use.

You will need to be able to hear voice and sounds. Please come early to check your voice. Do not bring animations or adornments that could cause lag. Elizabethan dress encouraged but optional.  Contact Katsii Tennen with any questions.

We look forward to seeing you this Saturday!

“That’s the Spirit: Telling the Story I Want to BE”

Hephaistos Semyorka (Heph) and Hermes Paravane hosted a program at Inspiration Island called “That’s the Spirit: Telling the Story I Want to BE” on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 9am to 10:30am SLT.  It was held in the fairgrounds area, near the meetup tent.

We know that our brains are designed to strive to make any story we tell ourselves a reality in our lives. Yet, we are rarely aware of the power of the “story” we tell ourselves each day. I can tell a story about myself that is energizing, healing and inspiriting; or I can tell a story that may keep me in a spiritually cloudy frame of mind and heart. Your own simple but powerful story can do even more than positive affirmations can, because it is grounded in your deepest values and inspired by your highest dreams, the ones that belong only to you. It is also important to remember that the story we tell other people about ourselves, even casually, helps them to understand how to help to us in creating the life we really want. Learn how to discover and foster the story that, every day, will feed your spirit and change your life in harmony with the pattern you are meant to live.

Hephaistos Semyorka and Hermes Paravane are real-life artists, writers and experienced executive and life coaches who have spent decades helping people recognize and follow their life paths. Real life work and life partners, they met at the Center for Creative Leadership, where both served as Faculty and program directors for the Center’s European campus in Brussels. In 2001 they founded Kairios, which in ancient Greek means “being in the right place, at the right time” – like the archer whose arrow must unerringly find the heart of a moving target, or the skillful weaver who creates a strong and useful fabric by sending the shuttle flying between the rapidly shifting interplay of warp and weft. Heph and Hermes work to educate coaches, educators, consultants and facilitators in values-based, non-judgmental, deeply creative practices for self-discovery and relationship.

A New ‘Mindful Meditation’ Program

On Sunday, March 5 at 3pm SLT, Ewan Bonham and Starlight began an exciting new program at Whole Brain Health. It is called ‘TransAct’ (Trancendant Activation), and started meeting weekly beginning on March 5.

The group covers the many benefits of Mindfulness Meditation and how you can use the many tools of Second Life to develop your own unique personal meditation space and process. We demonstrate the use of objects and simple builds, plus the use of the many environmental effects in SL to tailor your ashram devotional experience. The group plans to also venture to various gorgeous meditative sims in SL open for your use.

We will show you how you can discover just how your mind and heart connect to bring yourself to a peaceful Present Moment awareness at times when you need to step out of the stress the real world puts before us.

The program meets at the Community Cultural Hub initially, and the teleports to the TransAct Skydome.
